AT A GLANCE

COUNSELING STYLE

Melissa Carroll, LCSW

Melissa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who provides individual and family therapy to adolescents and adults. Her background in community mental health has given her experience working with a wide range of emotional, relational, and mental health concerns, including complex and intersecting needs. Melissa’s clinical interests include anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, grief and loss, relationship concerns, and significant life transitions. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and brings a trauma-informed perspective to helping clients understand and work through their concerns. Her clinical background also includes comprehensive assessment, individualized treatment planning, and crisis support. Beyond her direct clinical work, Melissa has served as a trainer and mentor to newer clinicians and values contributing to a collaborative clinical community where knowledge, support, and growth are shared.

Melissa believes clients are more than a diagnosis. She values understanding each person within the context of their experiences, relationships, strengths, and needs. Her approach is warm, honest, and down-to-earth. With Melissa, clients can safely explore their internal experiences and develop a deeper understanding of themselves. She offers direct feedback when helpful while respecting each client’s autonomy and personal goals. Melissa hopes clients leave therapy with a deeper understanding of themselves, greater confidence in their strengths, and a stronger sense of their inherent value. Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband, blended family, and pets, as well as live music, traveling, crafting, and jigsaw puzzles.
